New square wrapped silage grab

The Challenge Implements Research and Development team have been busy field testing their latest loader attachment to ensure it will be ready for the upcoming silage season. The square wrapped silage grab will be added to the already extensive range of loader attachments available from Challenge, and like all other attachments in the Challenge range this attachment has been designed for strength, versatility and operational efficiency.

The Challenge square wrapped silage grab features two smooth large ‘soft grab arms’ that cover a large surface area designed to prevent damage to the silage wrap. The ‘soft grab arms’ have been kept straight to enable the handling of wider bales whilst also allowing the operator to minimise the gap between the bales when stacking or loading.

Challenge have also enabled the operator to lock either ‘soft grab arm’ at the operator’s desired position using a simple hydraulic tap system.
The two ‘soft grab arms’ are controlled via 2.5 inch cylinders providing ample pressure allowing the safe handling of up to 8ft large square hay bales and long square silage bales.

There are two models in the Challenge square wrapped silage grab range, the 180SSG has been designed to handle the smaller bales 3 to 6ft long and can be used to handle most round wrapped silage bales if required, while the 246SSG will handle the larger bales 6 to 8ft long. An optional backrest can be included to enable operators to safely handle up to two bales.

Challenge manufacture over 40 different types of attachments with over 500 different sizes and configurations to suit a vast range of applications. They can also supply European style quick couplers and attachments so that operators are able to utilise existing European style attachments or interchange attachments with most other common branded loaders.
