Grizzly - tracking the future
Giving farmers implements of need is something Grizzly has been doing since 1982. The latest machine to be released from Grizzly is the Wheel Track Renovator.
“The machine is designed to fill wheel depressions and gutters created from Controlled Traffic Farming, self propelled sprayers and situations where wheel tracks are an issue,” says Skye Poltrock Marketing Manager.
Grizzly has built its name manufacturing ground engaging machinery and they have found a great niche with this product. Responding to a real need of modern day farming and farming into the future, Grizzly is positioning itself to cater to modern day needs.
“There is nothing else out there on the market that utilises the same features that we are using with this product,” Skye goes on to say. “We have got a registered design on the machine which is a great thing to have and proves it’s unique. But most importantly it works.”
The Wheel Track Renovator can be set on 2m or 3 m centres and matched to the tire widths. This can be done due of the use of the Tension Clamp System on the robust single 7” x 7” toolbar. And the use of the 12 fluted discs to move the soil back into the wheel furrow and a step down disc gives an even and constant working depth without the presence of a gutter on the edge of the working and the use of cage rollers give positive depth control and a constant working depth. Grizzly have even thought of the issue of centre pivot ruts and have a single unit machine to work in this application.
“The machine has had extensive testing over the 2009/10 summer in NSW and Victoria and it had managed to effectively fill wheel tracks up to 360mm (14”) in one pass. The operating speed varies slightly depending on conditions but is between 11-14km/h,” Skye says.
